Concrete Mathematics
There are some books that one must have. I strongly feel
Concrete Mathematics: A Foundation for Computer Science
is one of them. There are others too like The Art of Computer Programming series, but this book needs special mention because, unlike the TAOCP series, this does not seem to be well known. It draws its name from CONtinuous and disCRETE mathematics, though it is more of discrete math. It covers topics such as - sums, recurrence relations, elementary number theory, discrete probability, combinatorics, generating functions, asymptotics etc.. Of course, every chapter has numerous interesting examples and exercises. I couldn't recommend it more.
Authors: Ronald Graham, Donald Knuth and Oren Patashnik
ISBN-10: 0201558025
Price: about 400 I believe

Re: Concrete Mathematics
Thanks sanket, I've been looking for something like this for quite some time now.
