Chandrayaan and milestones
Got up early today to catch the live telecast of Chandrayaan launch. An exciting moment, I must say!
Just wondering, do we computer scientists have a culminating moment like a rocket launch where we can definitely claim that we have "succeeded" in our endeavours? Looks like our research is more like a interactive system -- to
maintain
something; rather than like conventional computing, that starts at a problem state and culminates at a solution state. Something which is easier to notice and quantify.
If you guys are willing to dream up something big and audacious for us computer scientists to achieve that would definitely be regarded as a major advancement (of computing/computer science/etc.) what would it be?
