Puzzle: Worried or Relaxed?

Here's a puzzle I came across. It's actually quite straight-forward, but a good one nonetheless.

Quote
You are an explorer who arrived on planet Bypolar. The Bypolarians come in two species: the Falsians and the Truans. The Falsians always lie whereas the Truans always tell the truth. Alas, you do not know how to distinguish them.

In any case, two locals are waiting for you.

First Bypolarian: You are most welcome on our planet. You are safe here.

Second Bypolarian: You must leave at once. You are in danger.

First Bypolarian: Do not mind my friend, he always lie.

Second Bypolarian: Ah… we always disagree.

Should you be worried or relaxed?

Re: Puzzle: Worried or Relaxed?

As in ? ,it was not mentinoned that what question should explorer ask to determine who is truthteller & who is liar.So i guess there is no fixed answer of this.it depends on the nature of explorer. If explorer is biased that"whoever will speak first will be liar(like bad guys always start first)" then all the outcomes  result  in the favour of danger(D,D,D,D), and he should "worried".Else if he biased that first speaker will be truth-teller(like good guys want to save others from danger) ,then each statement result into non dangerous situation(all ND,ND,ND,ND).SO no point to worry just "relaxed"?and if he does not hold any such belief then ... Huh

So i guess there is no fixed answer of this.

There is.

Re: Puzzle: Worried or Relaxed?

I guess there is an answer...

At first, both Bipolarians cannot be truans or falsians, as if so, they both should be saying same thing, i.e. i am in danger or not.

Now, assume, first bipolarian is truan. So, his statement, "Do not mind my friend, he always lie", should be true. Hense second bipolarian should be a falsian and his statement, "Ah… we always disagree", should be false, i.e., they both should agree all the time. Which is not possible as one is truan and the other is falsian. So, this assumption is not true.

Now, for the other condition, first bipolarian is a falsian, his statement, "Do not mind my friend, he always lie", should be false. And second bipolarian should not be lying, which also confirms that second bipolarian should be a truan. And now, his statement, "Ah... we always disagree" also supports their different opinions.

So, second bipolarian is trustworthy, and you should not be spending any more time on the planet...  Wink
